Eragrostis ciliaris (L.) R. Br.

Natural range:  Old World Tropics

Habitat:  Often in open, sandy, disturbed areas

Recognition:  This species looks very different from all of the other Eragrostis species in our area.  The inflorescence is a slender fuzzy wand resembling a pencil in shape and size.

Florida status:  Introduced, widespread weed, tolerant of salty places
