Chrysopogon pauciflorus (Chapm.) Benth. ex Vasey

Florida status: Native

Recognition: With long spikelets (8.1-10 mm) and exceedingly long (10.5-16 cm) awns, these contorted. Heteropogon can have spikelets and awns as long but differs by usually having the awns twisted together and the spikelets sessile (vs. on long exposed pedicels).
