Natural range: Asia

Habitat:  Vaied:  dry to wet

Recognition:  Similar to Phragmites but the internodes glabrous and the lemmas pubescent.  Collar area white-wooly.  Lemma split with short bent awn.

Florida status:  Invasive weed.  Rare in our area with a limited presence in Palm Beach County.  Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council Category I Invasive Exotic.
