Natural range: Eastern U.S. to Mesoamerica Habitat: Wet sites, shores, shallow standing water, moist depressions Florida status: Native, common Recognition: Exceptionally narrow, nearly terete leaves. Inflorescence pencil-narrow, with branches tightly appressed. Panicum hemitomon may have a similar inflorescence, but the leaves are flat.
