Rottboellia cochinchinensis (Lour.) Clayton

Natural range:  Southeast Asia

Habitat: Disturbed places

Recognition:  Sometimes a very large grass, to 3 m tall.  Has leaf blades to 2.5 cm wide, often with a white midrib.  Sheaths distinctively with painfully irritating, papilla-based hairs.  Inflorescence pencil-like.

Florida status:  Nuisance weed
