Natural range: Eastern U.S. to Mesoamerica Habitat: Low wet sunny sites, ditches, shores, swamps Recognition: Large cane having conspicuously pubescent ligule area, and with feathery-fuzzy spikelets, the sessile ones 4.5-6 mm long.
