Recognition: Leaves extremely thin, 0.3 mm. Spikelets usually single or in small clusters, to 6(8) mm long. Bristles 6, plumose, not going past middle of achene. Achene with slightly wrinkled surface, 1.5-2 mm long, approximately as wide.
