Habitat:  Usually shell mounds and other marly coastal habitats, coastal hammock

Florida status:   Native

Recognition:  Chiefly coastal.  Plants to 2 m tall.  Leaf blades to 2 cm wide.  Panicle to 25 cm   Spikelets > 3 mm long
