Sporobolus junceus (P. Beauv.) Kunth

Natural range:  Southern U.S.

Habitat:  Pine woods

Florida status:  Native

Recognition: Basal branches of inflorescences whorled giving the inflorescence a pyramidal form.  Inflorescence axes branched.  Spikelets 2.6-3.8 mm, purple, the lower glume over ½ the length of the spikelet, the upper glume as long as the spikelet.
