Zizaniopsis miliacea (Michx.) Döll & Asch.

Natural range: Eastern U.S. to South America

Recognition: Inflorescence a panicle reminiscent of a Panicum in outline.  Spikelets laterally compressed with a single floret; 2-horned (one horn being the tip of the lemma and the other being the tip of the palea).

Florida status:  Native.  Uncommon in our area.
