Dichanthelium laxiflorum (Lamarck) Gould Natural range: Southern U.S., Mexico, Caribbean Habitat: Moist shaded areas Florida status: Native, widespread Recognition: Branched at the base only. Leaves soft, flexible, in basal cluster, the sheath hairy; leaf blades to 17 cm, ciliate marginally. Spikelets 1.7-2.3 mm, pubescent with papilla-based hairs (vs. D. strigosum). Lower glume deltoid (vs. blunt in D. portoricense).
