Dichanthelium strigosum (Muhlenberg ex Elliott) Freckman

Natural range:   North America and Caribbean

Habitat:  Moist habitats

Florida status:   Native, with three varieties

Recognition:  Plant a ground-hugging rosette; hairs on sheath pointing upward; leaf blades 3-5 mm wide, glabrous except for strigose margins, to 7 cm long. Panicle short, to 6 cm. Spikelets 1.1-2.1 mm, the hairs not papilla-based (vs. D. laxiflorum).
