Habitat:  Weed of moist disturbed places

Recognition:  Sheaths glabrous.  Ligule absent.  Inflorescences with the branches simple.  Spikes about 2 cm, unbranched.  Spikelets 3 mm, awnless or nearly so.  

Florida status:  Not native, weed, common and widespread
