Distribution:  East-central U.S. to Mesoamerica

Habitat:   Hypericum marshes

Recognition:  Plants of Hypericum marshes.  Spindly, with the spikelets sessile in terminal and lateral clusters.  Leaves 0.5-1 mm wide.  Spikelets large: 5-7 mm long.  Scales with short awn. Achene 2.1-2.5 mm long glossy.  Tubercle large:  0.9-1 mm long
